SU/Cornell Note-Taking System

   SU/Cornell Note-Taking System

  • What is SU/Cornell note-taking system?

It is a method that could be used in all courses.

One page of my notebook is divided to A, B and C, three parts. Part A, which is the biggest part is for in-class note taking. Part B is recall column, which used for recall after the class. Part C is the summary box.

My note for MAT 221.
This is my first attempt at using this note-taking method. It is not the same way I used to take notes. I didn't add recall column and summary box before. Therefore, my recall after class is just to read the note again, and I didn't write the key word again. If I follow the old method, I may forget the new knowledge that is not impressive in a long time.
I believe if I continue to stick with SU/Cornell nota-taking system, this can be greatly improved.

This is another page of my note for the same lecture, and this is what it looks like right after the class.

This is what it looks like after I wrote recall and summary.

I will reread my note on Sunday every week. SU/Cornell note-taking skill makes me review easier and more efficient.
Hope I can continue to use this method in the future. :)
